This morning in Guided reading, Year 5 explored vocabulary and generating sentences through a book game. Why don’t you try it?
1) choose a book
2) Roll the dice- flick the pages for that number of seconds to find the page you will land on
3) Roll the dice again- using the page under your left thumb, count that number of lines down the page
4) Roll the dice a third time- count that number of words along the line you’ve landed on
5) Generate a sentence using the word you’ve landed on. Can you include the literacy skills you have learnt so far this year?
