Today in maths, 6R and 6H went outside to do some learning.
“When we do outdoor maths, I find it easier to remember because we’re more active and it is different from being inside” – Gracie
“As well as keeping healthy and fit we’re still learning” – Charlie
“It’s really fun and that helps me to remember different strategies” – Harmani
We went outside and ran laps of the playground, each lap was meant to be 8km (not really!) and we had 10 minutes to run as far as we can. The children then calculated how many fake kilometres they had run. Back in the classroom, we converted our distance ran in km to miles using the ratio 5 miles is approximately equal to 8km.
we should do more of these stuff
I like learning outdoors because it sticks in your brain more
