Last week, 3H – Elm were learning and demonstrating their knowledge of place value.
Using a variety of resources, such as dienes, place value counters and bead strings, they represented numbers up to 1000 in different ways. This hands-on lesson displayed their learning and understanding of reading and writing numbers in numerals and words and recognising the place value of each digit.
As one engaged member of the class said,
"I love using the maths equipment! It's really fun to make the answers and not just write them in our books!"
