Fossil Hunting

Last week Chestnut class made their own fossils using clay and plaster. Today we pretended we were Palaeontologists and excavated them.

The children were really surprised with how careful they needed to be when extracting the fossils. We also learnt that many of the fossils were not exact replicas of the objects they had used to create their fossil moulds. We had a discussion about what this could tell us about the past.
