In Rowan Class, we’ve been investigating the features of circles using string, metre sticks and an inquisitive attitude. We went to find circles around the school and measured the circumference and the diameter. After dividing the circumference by the diameter, we noticed that lots of the results were around the number 3. It was then that some of us realised there must be a link to pi (3.14).
We loved investigating maths around the school, being independent in our learning and getting outside to the school grounds.
The circle song is a great help.
