Y5 Home Learning and transition to Google Classroom (Week 2)

This weeks home learning recommendation is below (again, click refresh or download if it does not appear).

We did our best in challenging circumstances last week to provide some work for children, and we have listened to feedback this week and have done our best again to make the work something that can be done in front of, or away from a screen. We are transitioning to Google Classroom from today – this was something exciting that as a school we were looking to do anyway, but has been put in place a lot quicker than we planned! There will be bumps in the road, so do let us know if you have any problems.

Google Classroom enables teachers to see children’s work and feedback where necessary.  We’re excited to roll it out and see children’s work as it is submitted. As with all new ideas, it will take time for us all to adjust, but the potential is great! Have a go! This weeks home learning for Year 5 will appear on Google Classrooms at 8am on Monday Morning. Children have the ability to comment and discuss work with us on Google Classroom, but we remind them to follow our normal internet safety guidelines. Any comments posted should be treated like comments made in a real classroom.

Details on logging in to Google Classroom was sent out via SchoolComs on Friday. In the meantime, we are duplicating the work on the school website, but this will only be the case during the transition phase so it is worthwhile getting on to Google Classrooms this week to have a go.
