Measuring the height of a tree

Rowan went out this morning to test different methods of measuring the height of a tree. We learnt that knowing the features of an isosceles right-angled triangle can help us to measure the height of a tree, as two sides of the triangle will be equal in length. We then had the chance to use a clinometer to measure a 45 degree angle.

Best of all, we got to do some more outdoor learning!
