Year 6 visited the Tate Modern today to seek inspiration for our Modern Art Project (to be launched next week).
The behaviour and enthusiasm of our children was exemplary – artists and styles that we have looked at in school (such as Picasso, Dali and Lichtenstein) were noticed and commented on.
It was also incredibly interesting and inspiring to see the range of materials used by artists to create their pieces, including the likes of shop receipts, make-up and cous-cous.
We’d all like to say a big thank you to all our parent helpers too; without parental support, many of these types of trip would be unable to take place.
That was a very enjoyable trip to the Tate. I found most of the art interesting and a few pieces made me feel confused.
